This film is based on Sikh regiments that went to the front lines during WWI. Sajjan Singh, a polo aficionado, was a British Indian Army officer and Maharaja of Ratlam State, ruling from 1893-1947. He served on the Western Front during WWI.
Directed by Pankaj Batra, the film is based on the eponymous historical figure of Maharaja Sir Sajjan Singh, a British Army Soldier and the first Maharaja of Ratlam State who ruled from 1893 to 1947. The film reportedly follows Sir Sajjan Singh’s experiences in Germany during WWI.
